Waikato Wedding Photographer

Relaxed, natural wedding photography across Hamilton, Matamata, Waihi, Raglan and the wider Waikato.

Weddings across the Waikato

The Waikato feels a little like home to me.

From quiet farm weddings and relaxed backyard celebrations to beautiful venues, gardens and everything in between, I’ve spent years photographing couples across Hamilton and the wider Waikato.

Based in Gordonton, just north of Hamilton, I’m close enough to know the area well, but I’m always happy to follow you wherever your day takes you — whether that’s a paddock at home, a garden filled with family, a country venue or somewhere completely unexpected.

I’m drawn to the moments that happen naturally. The nervous excitement before the ceremony. A dad seeing his daughter for the first time. Grandparents squeezing in for a photo. Friends laughing when nobody is looking. The little moments you didn't plan for, but will remember forever.

Whether you're planning a wedding in Hamilton, Matamata, Waihi, Raglan or somewhere tucked away in the Waikato, I want your photographs to feel like you — relaxed, honest and full of the people and moments that made your day yours

Real Waikato weddings...

Every corner of the Waikato has its own character. I've photographed weddings in beautiful gardens, rustic country venues, family backyards and some pretty unexpected places. Here's a little look at some of the areas I've had the pleasure of photographing in.

More than just a wedding photographer

Perfectly imperfect moments, captured as they truly felt.

Your wedding photographs should feel like your wedding — not a collection of perfectly posed moments that could belong to anyone.

I’m all about giving you space to actually enjoy your day. I’ll guide you when you need a little direction, but I’m just as happy stepping back and letting the real moments happen.

The laughter, the happy tears, the ridiculous dance moves, the people you love, and all the little things you probably didn't even notice on the day.

That’s the stuff I want you to remember.

A little more about me...

I’m Sarah, a Waikato-based wedding and portrait photographer, and I've been photographing people and their stories for more than a decade.

I’m based in Gordonton, just north of Hamilton, and photograph weddings throughout the Waikato and beyond. I’m a NZIPP Accredited Photographer and Master of Photography, and my work has been recognised nationally and internationally, including exhibiting in Paris.

But honestly, the awards aren't the bit that matters most to me.

What matters is creating photographs that bring you straight back to how it felt to be there.

Real love stories

Every wedding is different, and that's exactly how it should be.

If you want to see more of the real stories behind the photographs, have a wander through some of the weddings I've photographed around New Zealand.

From relaxed backyard celebrations to beautiful country venues and big family gatherings, these are real couples, real moments and real wedding days — exactly as they happened.

Planning your
Waikato wedding?

Whether you're getting married in Hamilton, celebrating at home in Gordonton, heading out to the countryside around Pirongia or Matamata, or finding somewhere completely your own, I'd love to hear what you're planning.

You don't need to have everything figured out yet.

Tell me what you're dreaming up, and we'll take it from there.
