I'm based just north of Hamilton, but I'm always happy to travel for a good story.
From city celebrations and beautiful Auckland venues to laid-back weddings further north, I love photographing couples who want their wedding photographs to feel natural, honest and completely like them.
You don't need to know exactly what you want your photographs to look like. You just need to be yourselves — I'll take care of the rest.
Weddings beyond my usual backyard
One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is getting to see how differently people celebrate.
I've photographed weddings around Auckland and further afield in Northland, and I love the change of scenery, the new places and the stories that come with them.
Whether you're planning a big Auckland celebration, an intimate gathering by the coast or a wedding somewhere I've never been before, I'm always up for the adventure.
Real weddings, real stories
Every corner of the Bay of Plenty is stunning. I've photographed weddings on stunning beaches, rustic country venues, family backyards, serene harbours and some pretty unexpected places. Here's a little look at some of the areas in the Bay of Plenty I've had the pleasure of photographing in.
Sanders Reserve, Auckland
S & U
An intimate Valentine's Day wedding surrounded by their closest family, with love right at the centre of everything.
Saskia and Umit's day brought together two cultures, with beautiful nods to both their Turkish and Dutch backgrounds. Family and friends who couldn't be there in person joined online from Turkey to witness the ceremony and celebrate alongside them.
And then there was the weather.
The rain rolled in and wrapped the day in an atmosphere that couldn't have been planned — soft, moody and completely beautiful.
From behind my camera, it was obvious these two were completely, undeniably in love.
Abel Estate, Auckland
J & M
The forecast promised heavy rain.
Instead, Jenny and Mark got sunshine.
Their wedding at Abel Estate was one of those days where everything seemed to fall into place — beautiful details, an incredible group of people and a couple who had clearly been waiting a long time for this moment.
There was something particularly special about seeing the way everyone came together to make their day happen, from the beautiful florals and dress to the people who travelled and celebrated alongside them.
And thankfully, the wedding gods delivered a gorgeous day after all.
Whitford, Auckland
A & G
Angela and Geoff tied the knot on the family deer farm in Whitford, creating a wedding that was completely their own.
They had poured so much time and love into the details, and it showed everywhere you looked.
From the flowers and styling to the marquee, music, food and all the little touches they had planned themselves, this was a celebration built around family, friends and having an incredible day together.
And after some very uncooperative weather in the lead-up, they somehow managed to get the perfect wedding day.
Hunua, Auckland

A beautiful day, an incredible location and a couple who were very clearly head over heels in love.
Rav and Tina celebrated their wedding in Hunua surrounded by family and friends, with gorgeous florals, beautiful details and the kind of atmosphere that makes photographing a wedding an absolute joy.
Sometimes a wedding doesn't need to be complicated.
Just two people completely in love, surrounded by their favourite people.
Bracu Estate, Auckland
N & J
A big, beautiful celebration at Bracu Estate, with the couple and their guests staying right on the estate for the weekend.
The boys started the morning with clay bird shooting while the girls got ready in a house tucked amongst the olive groves. And, of course, their gorgeous dogs were there to be part of it all.
It was the kind of wedding where the setting, the people and all those little personal touches came together to make the whole day feel like theirs.
Hokianga, Northland
D & S
There's something pretty special about a wedding that feels completely connected to the people and place around it.
Set overlooking the Hokianga Harbour at The Heads Hokianga, Dan and SJ created a relaxed and incredibly personal day with the help of their friends and family.
The whole day felt like them. Relaxed, fun and completely unconcerned with the little things that don't really matter.
And then there was that view.
The kind of place where the landscape becomes part of the story without ever taking away from the people at the centre of it.

I'm all about giving you space to actually enjoy your day. I'll guide you when you need a little direction, but I'm just as happy stepping back and letting the real moments happen.
The people you love. The laughter. The happy tears. The little things you probably didn't even notice on the day.

A little more about me...
I'm Sarah — a NZIPP Accredited Photographer and Master of Photography based just north of Hamilton.
I've been photographing people and weddings for more than a decade, and my favourite thing about this job is still the same: getting to tell people's stories in a way that feels honest and completely their own.
I've photographed weddings in all sorts of places, from the Waikato countryside to the Bay of Plenty coast, Auckland and further afield.
So if you're planning something outside my usual backyard, don't be afraid to ask.
