Most of my couples tell me they feel a little awkward about photos before their wedding day — and that’s completely normal.
You’re not expected to know how to pose, where to stand, or what to do with your hands. That’s my job.
I’ll guide you gently when direction helps, and step back when real moments are unfolding so nothing feels interrupted or staged.
There’s no pressure to perform here. No expectation to be anything other than yourselves.
And somewhere in between, I’ll probably tell you how good you look — because most people don’t hear that enough on their wedding day.

Hi I'm Sarah
I’m a Waikato-based wedding and portrait photographer, a mum of three, and usually somewhere between a camera in one hand and the chaos of everyday life in the other.
That’s probably why I’m drawn to the real moments — the ones that aren’t perfectly posed, but actually feel like you.
My approach is relaxed and unobtrusive. I’ll guide you when you need it, but I’m not here to turn your day into a photoshoot. The best images happen when you feel comfortable enough to just be yourselves.
Whether it’s a wedding day, a growing family, or something a little more personal — I’m there to capture it honestly, as it unfolds.

I’m an Accredited Photographer with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP) — which means my work has been professionally assessed against industry standards for both technical skill and storytelling.

Within NZIPP, I’ve also been awarded the distinction of Master of Photography, recognising a consistent level of high-quality work across my portfolio.
I regularly enter the Iris Awards, where these images have been recognised, and have been named a finalist for New Zealand Wedding Photographer of the Year twice, as well as winning Waikato & Bay of Plenty Regional Photographer of the Year in 2023.
While awards are never the goal, they reflect the care, intention, and craft behind every gallery I deliver.
