Te Tumu Estate Wedding | J + A

J + A’s autumn wedding at Te Tumu Estate was the perfect mix of relaxed, fun, and unapologetically personal.

The day was filled with warm golden light, emotional moments, and the kind of energy that makes a wedding feel effortless to photograph. From the moment I arrived, it was obvious that every detail had been chosen to reflect them completely — including the incredible Lego-inspired touches woven throughout the day. Mini figure boutonnieres, Lego blossoms for the bridesmaids, and little playful details everywhere you looked made the whole celebration feel uniquely theirs.

As the sun dropped lower across the estate, we chased the last of the golden light through the fields — including a fence hop in a wedding dress and a quick stop on the trampoline, which somehow felt perfectly fitting for the day.

As night settled in, the atmosphere shifted into something moodier and more cinematic. Beneath glowing festoon lights and the triangular archway, we created some of my favourite images from the entire day — dramatic, intimate, and full of feeling.

From beginning to end, this wedding felt relaxed, joy-filled, and beautifully real.
